How we collect, use, and protect your personal data
Applies to howmanypatents.com and cintelliq.com — last updated March 2026.
This website is operated by cintelliq Limited, registered in England and Wales. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
If you have any questions about how we handle your data, please contact us at sales@cintelliq.com.
We only collect the minimum information needed to provide our services:
Name and email address — collected when you place an order, create an account, or sign up for our newsletter. We use this to process your purchase, give you access to your subscription or report, and send you service communications.
Business or organisation name — collected at the point of purchase to identify the licence holder.
Newsletter engagement data — if you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect basic open and click analytics through our email platform. This helps us understand what content is useful to our subscribers.
We do not collect or store payment card details. All payments are processed securely by our third-party payment provider and we never see your full card information.
We do not store passwords. Access to your account and purchased content is provided via a passwordless (magic link) system.
Contract performance — processing your name, email, and business details is necessary to fulfil your purchase and provide access to the services you have bought.
Legitimate interests — sending newsletter communications to existing customers, and measuring basic engagement analytics, where we have a legitimate business interest in doing so and this does not override your rights.
Consent — where you have actively signed up to receive our newsletter without making a purchase, we rely on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by clicking unsubscribe in any email.
We retain your name and email for as long as you hold an active subscription or account with us, and for a reasonable period afterwards for administrative and legal purposes. If you wish us to delete your data, please contact us at sales@cintelliq.com.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may share your data with trusted service providers who help us operate our business, including our payment processor and email platform. These providers are contractually required to handle your data securely and only for the purpose of providing their service to us.
If you are based in the EU, your data may be processed in the UK. The UK is recognised by the EU as providing adequate data protection.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction or deletion of your data, object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent where consent is our legal basis. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at sales@cintelliq.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the ICO at www.ico.org.uk.
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page will always reflect when it was last revised. Continued use of our services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
